Some people believe serious conflicts exist between contemporary science and religious beliefs. Both seek solid knowledge from different sources — in the first case logical and rational data, and in the second sacred scriptures.

Science begins with data that can be reproduced. From these data, theories are formulated and experimental observations test their implications.

On the other hand, the religious worldview is based on a supernaturalist ontology, which admits the relationships between human beings and a supernatural being.

It is important to highlight that the body of knowledge of religion, unlike factual science, comprises traditional doctrines and beliefs from the sacred scriptures. The value system of religion is a system sustained by the belief that a supernatural (divine) entity is the greatest value that exists and that human beings must obey and worship it.

However, numerous authors argue that there is empirical evidence that the universe resulted from intelligent “design.”
